Myrtle McGraw collection of John Dewey correspondence, 1928-1942.

Myrtle McGraw was a friend and correspondent of John Dewey's who maintained a close professional and personal relationship with him until his death. This collection consists of materials saved by McGraw during the time that she knew Dewey including 101 letters, five post cards and one telegram from John Dewey (JD) to McGraw, as well as a script Dewey wrote for McGraw's wedding, which he officiated in 1936. Other items in the collection include a 1928 letter from Dewey to Helen Parkhurst on McGraw's behalf, and two items sent to McGraw by other correspondents.

John Dewey was born on October 20, 1859 in Burlington, Vermont and graduated in 1879 from The University of Vermont.
